Dragon Lich King was my final year graduate film at the Univeristy of Glouctershire. Inspired by classic fantasy cartoons such as “Berserk” and "He-Man”. As well as British Coming-of-age dramas like “This is England”. Dragon Lich King is about 11 year old Michael, who’s emotions towards his parents’ divorce gets personified as his imaginary friend, The Dragon Lich King.

For this film, I was the editor and co-writer. For our graduate film, I really wanted to test myself and as such, my workload was immense. There’s over 40 shots where VFX is required, paired with the strict deadline to give sound enough time. It was a busy month working to create this 12 minute short film.

In order to get the funding, we crowdfunded on kickstarter, raising 123% of our goal. As the editor, my time in pre-production was less busy than the rest of our six person crew, so I was in charge of running our social media and spreading interest in our kickstarter.
